The term "Space Pirate Vessel" or SPV refers to spacecraft be it freighter, warship, carrier, etc. used by outlaws who raid trading routes, sack colonies, and steal.
[edit] What do they Do?
They blow things up, blow themselves up, get captured, get speared by asteroids, etc. etc. These ships attack and attack al'day long. Many serve as privateers and some are former mining vessels. Outlaws used these before when they were payed in full before the Great Payless happened.
