Paracetus are gigantic, flying whales that live in very wet forests. Their front flippers grew large and wing-shaped, large and strong enough for the whale to lift off. Although they live air-based lives and can breathe air, they must keep their skin wet, or they will dry out. In order to do so, the whales reside in large rivers, emerging onto land only when it rains. As they solely live in wet rainforests, where rain is common, they do not have to worry about staying dormant for very long. When active and in the air, a Paracetus will fly above the forest overgrowth with others of its species in packs of three to five, snagging birds and tree-living mammals with their teeth-filled jaws. Because of their size, wings and teeth, Paracetus are not preyed on by most of the creatures in the forest, but there are exceptions. Some predators can pierce the tough hide of a Paracetus, bringing it to the ground, where it weakens. It eventually dries out and dies after the rain subsides, where the hunter or any scavenger can feast on its gigantic corpse.
