Carnibulbs are odd creatures. They are egg-shaped, and have two comical bulging eyes. It has quite a large mouth, as do most of the rest of its species. As with most grub-dogs, the creature's cranium comprises half of its total length and girth. The creature's backside is a vivid scarlet color when mature, younger specimens have a paler red, the whole back in an adult is covered in white spots, while the juvenile forms do not. Although the first few documents of the red Carnibulbs classified them as "spotty Carnibulbs", when subspecies of varied color had been recently discovered, the name was changed. They live in nests, usually found in the open, or in more isolated spots. The Carnibulb is primarily nocturnal, attacking whatever wanders too close to their nest.
[edit] Subspecies
The Carnibulb was originally classified as a single species, but discoveries of other spotted species had the name changed.
[edit] Woolly Carnibulb
The Woolly Carnibulb lives in polar climates, although it is a mostly subterrainean species. What distinguishes it from the average Carnibulb, aside from its white/brown coloration, the most different feature is the Woolly Carnibulb's thick coat of soft, white fur. Not only does the fur obscure the creature's abdominal markings, it also warms its vital organs. However, its hair follicles are surprisingly frail, which means if the Carnibulb is surprised, it will lose all of its hair.
