The Baobas has been chosen as a creation of the week originally for week 29 of 2006!

The Baobas have three eyes, one big eye with excellent sight and 2 smaller eyes with average sight. They have four arms and two legs. The two lower arms used to function as front legs millions of years ago.

[edit] Scavengers
Baobas have big mouths so that they can gobble up their prey faster, since there are many very effective scavengers on their planet.
Let's throw a piece of meat on the ground for ten minutes or so, and see what happens.
That was a molewurm. There are many other just as effective scavengers as the molewurm on the Baobas' homeworld.
[edit] Predators
Well, since those molewurms are only scavengers, Baobasses do not fear them. The creatures they do fear are predators like this Guldrog.
It waits for some unlucky creature to step on one of the its spikes/hooks, making escape impossible so that the Guldrog can tear off chunks of the doomed creature.
Here is one! Lets try to throw a steak on one of its "hooks".
Actually the Baobasses use Guldrog tusks for their "Guldrog Tooth Puncha" (a tank of theirs).
[edit] Medieval Baobas
The Baobas are very fond of gold and golden colors, and their planet is rich with that particular material. In fact, early cave Baobas used to decorate their cave entrances and nests with gold or rocks that had a golden or yellowish shininess to them. This natural fondness for the golden colors is one of the things that make Baobas easy to recognize since they cover almost everything with it.

[edit] Tribal Burrow
Anyway, this is not much, but better than nothing. An old Tribal Burrow before they became cave dwellers. As you can see there is the standard golden decoration that Baobasses love so much, but also notice the "fence" of bones around the spot in front of the entrance. They are meant to keep death at bay, by showing themselves as worthy of life, but it also works to establish respect from other Baobasses. These particular burrows are made by males only. Female burrows are very different, and I am not really sure how Baobasses of the third gender live. So as you can see there are lots to be revealed ;)!

[edit] Religion
The dominet religion of Baubtanis (their homeplanet) is that they were born from their planet, and that it is not only a planet but a grand being; a god which they call Baubtanis.
[edit] Creation Story
Before time Baubtanis was born. Baubtanis did not know how or why, since it had no parents to tell. Baubtanis was alone for a long time wandering around between the stars to find answers, until one day Baubtanis noticed a star brighter and bigger than any star it had come across before. As Baubtanis approached the star, it only grew larger and more magnificent, but also hotter. So Baubtanis had to stop to avoid being scorched, and as Baubtanis stopped, it saw life had sprung, trees had grown, and that plains had covered its surface. Baubtanis was no longer alone, and stayed close to this bright star since then. It had found its true purpose, which was life.
Here we see the Baobas' flag, symbolizing Baubtanis (gold in the bottom) giving birth to the first Baobas, Kocoon.
Because of this religion, they have much respect for their planet and treat it "well", according to their beliefs anyway.
