[edit] Appearance / Anatomy

The Acrori is a creature similar to the vegetation of the rainforest. Its body is generally rock-like, in a shape similar to a letter "C". The body, which is low to the ground, would move slowly if it were not for the fact the Acrori have developed a system of eight short and stubby legs that allow it to move at a fairly quick rate due to their sheer multitude. The body curves upward, and at the tip of the "C" exists a protrusion of four budding heads. Each of the four heads are similar to a floral growth, and have spawned upon each a strong sensory system and a mouth for attacking and eating. The Acrori have an acute sense of smell and use this in place of eyesight to sense other creatures. They also have a small sense of hearing, although this does not apply greatly to their sensory system, as their scent receptors do most of the work. Each mouth atop each protruding head is similar to a budding flower with razor sharp teeth. These heads are simultaneously used for attacking methods and for eating their prey. Upon the side of each head-like stalk are small arm-like appendages with hands similar to grappling hooks for the sake of basic attack and to pick up and use basic tools.

Acrori have no skeletal system to speak of, and could be better understood by looking at the structural anatomy of an average plant. The Acrori have a thick stem-like body, and eight root-like legs. Their body is held up by the tubular inner structures of their body, which supply them with the water and nourishment they need in the form of a circulatory system. The Acrori have lenticels at varying points on their body through which they allow in oxygen. The mouth supplies no internal respiration tract, but does contain the digestive tract.

[edit] Method of Attack

The Acrori have also developed into an intelligent race of creatures, forming large groups within forests, luring unsuspecting creatures with the promise of food, by rustling amongst the brush. Unaware the foliage is their combatant, the creature is led to the central point of the forest by the rustling of the surrounding Acrori, where the wisest and strongest Acrori will attack and tear apart the unsuspecting victim.

[edit] Reproduction

Acrori reproduce through the use of spores. This being said, the Acrori are asexual creatures with no specific gender. The Acrori gather at a predetermined point in their community during the season previous to the warmest season on their planet. This location has to be densely forested so the spores can grow properly. The Acrori release their spores and then guard the location of their young for approximately 6 months until the young Acrori are capable of budding off and freely moving.
